Parents, Teachers and Friends Association

The Parents Teachers and Friends Association extend a warm welcome to every parent or carer with a child at Cheam Park Farm Infants School.  The main aim of our PTFA is to support the school to achieve its goals.  The PTFA also provides good communication links between parents/carers and the school.

All members of the PTFA are volunteers who give up their time to support the school. Each year the PTFA elects officers to lead, we currently have a Chairperson, two Vice-Chairs, a Secretary, Treasurer, and Donations Coordinator.   There are also many other members of the PTFA who regularly come along to meetings and offer support at our fundraising events along with school staff.

What Do We Fund?

All monies raised by the PTFA help buy items to be used by the children that are NOT funded by the Education Funding Authority. The events we have organised and funded include, family discos, popcorn sales, cake sales, ice lolly sales, school fairs and equipment for the school.  Many ideas for our funding come directly from the children.

Over the last few years the PTFA have worked very hard and with the money raised have purchased the following items for the school:

Golden time toys            £34.99 (2014)

9 Clever Touch Screens £16.500.00 (2015)

70 Tablets                     £7000.00 (2013)

Playground Equipment   £478.46 (2013)

Lighting for Stage area    £3000.00 (2014)

Playground Markings      £478.46 (2014)

Bee Bots                       £545.20 (2013)

Trim Trail                      £3000.00 (2012)

What Next?

Our main focus for fundraising this year is to purchase four more Clever Touch Screens for the Reception and Nursery Classes. These are interactive white boards which are used in class. The PTFA are also funding a new stage lighting system in the school hall, which was installed in December 2014.

Please be assured that all PTFA expenditure is discussed and agreed at one of the PTFA meetings to ensure that each pound raised is carefully spent.

Come and Join Us?

Each half term we hold a lively meeting which everyone is invited to attend. We always welcome new faces and new ideas and would love to see you. No support is too small, help can be given in many ways, please do come and join us!

We do of course understand that not everyone can attend meetings or help on a regular basis, but there are still may things that you can so such as, help with administration, wrap items for the fair or Christmas parties, run a stall at one of our fairs or source donations which can be used in raffles.

Matched Funding

Many companies run what is called ‘A matched funding Scheme’. This is a scheme where an employee can support an event such as a Christmas Fair and the company with match fund monies raised.  Over the last few years we had been given funding from Barclays Bank.  We would ask any parent or friend of the school to check if their employer offers this type of scheme.  This is a fantastic way to raise money for the school.

Say Hello

You will often see many committee members in the school the playground, please feel free to come and say hello, ask about the PTFA and what we do.
