On behalf of the PTFA Committee, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Cheam Park Farm Nursery & Infants' School. We hope that your child's years here will be happy ones and that you will want to get involved in ways to help the school. The Parent Teacher and Friends Association at the school is an active one and you are automatically members by having a child at the school. The PTFA committee is made up of parents, friends and teachers. We meet informally about once each half term to discuss ways of fund-raising for the school. Any parent is welcome to attend these meetings.
Over the last couple of years, one of our aims has been to try and involve as many parents as possible in the preparation and running of our events. I am pleased to say we have been immensely successful. We are always trying to encourage more people to join the PTFA Committee. So if you would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
There are also many times when we need people to give us a hand with small jobs. Therefore the more people we have involved, the lighter the workload. Sometimes this help may take 20-30 minutes but it means we can be working on something else. If you don't have time to help don't worry, your support at our events is just as valuable.
We also provide services such as the sale of refreshments at school functions and assist the school with the sale of hair accessories etc. We are constantly looking at new services we can provide. So don't be shy, let us know your views and opinions. All of the money raised goes to the school fund but what does it get spent on? Over the past few years the money has been put towards:
- The trains, jet and ship in the playground
- Interactive whiteboards in the classrooms
- The environmental garden area in the Nursery
- Wooden benches in the playground
- The ICT Suite in Rainbow House
- The Foundation Stage play area
- The refurbishment of the school playground
- The new trim trail apparatus
- ICT - tablets for classes
The money raised by the PTFA this year will continue to go towards the purchase of tablets for children to use in class and the refurbishment of the reception playground.
So as you can see the children really benefit from all the hard work carried out by the PTFA.
All new members are welcome and any help you can give is really appreciated, so please come along and join us!
On behalf of the PTFA
Anita Cook (Chair of PTFA)
